samjorgensen asked: Hey dood, I like your photos. I'm thinking about investing in some flashes and triggers. Any suggestions for the college kid budget?

Thanks! I think the cheapest option would be a couple of vivitar 285’s and amazon cowboy studio triggers. That would run under 200$. Right now I have a nikon sb80dx and sb800 with cactus v5 transcievers. If you spend a little bit more on triggers/recievers they will be alot more reliable than just getting the cheapest you can go. If you’re on the college budget start with one flash, learn to use it then buy another when you start to feel comfortable with it. Don’t foreget to save some money for lightstands and heads for them. Trying to set up flashes without them is a pain. I use some lumopro stands with fold up legs even though they’re less sturdy and don’t go as high because they fit in my bag for skating around the city. Also check on craigslist for some used stuff on the cheap.
